About Everton
Everton have spent more seasons in the English top flight than any other club (121 and counting). Founded in 1878, the Toffees play at Goodison Park, capacity 39,414, though a move to the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium on Liverpool's waterfront is imminent. Nine league titles, five FA Cups and a European Cup Winners' Cup in 1985. The Merseyside Derby with Liverpool is shared across the city and often shared across families.
Legends
Dixie Dean scored 60 league goals in 1927/28, a record that will never be broken. Neville Southall made 750 appearances and was, for a period in the mid-1980s, the best goalkeeper in the world. Howard Kendall built the greatest Everton side as manager: the 1984/85 team won the league and the Cup Winners' Cup and would likely have won the European Cup had English clubs not been banned post-Heysel. Alan Ball drove them to the 1970 title with tireless energy.
