About Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest play at the City Ground on the banks of the Trent, capacity 30,445. Founded in 1865, they are the only club in English football to have won more European Cups (two) than league titles (one). Brian Clough took them from the Second Division to back-to-back European Cup wins in 1979 and 1980, the most improbable sequence in European football history. The East Midlands Derby with Leicester City and Derby County runs deep.
Legends
Brian Clough (manager 1975-1993) was the greatest manager in English football history who never managed England. John Robertson, a podgy winger from the wrong side of Nottingham, was turned by Clough into the best left winger in Europe; his cross won the 1980 European Cup final. Stuart Pearce (Psycho) embodied Clough's Forest with his free kicks and passion. Peter Shilton was the best goalkeeper in the world during his Forest years, central to both European triumphs.
